On this particular day the location was at a restaurant that allowed no pictures at all. &nbsp;We were meeting two well known playwrights for American Theatre Magazine.</p>
<p>They were Tracy Letts, who received the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for his play <em>August: Osage County</em> and Sarah Ruhl, who at 34 has already won a half-million-dollar MacArthur Fellowship for her plays which include <em>The Clean House</em>, a comedy that was a Pulitzer Prize finalist in 2005.</p>
<p>Thinking quickly, I saw a old block of tenement buildings and thought the colors behind them would be flattering and not distracting. Also, it shows an older, not so fashionable area of the New York theater district in the background.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Luckily for me my instincts were right and the art director loved the photos.</p>

<p>They managed to have their ceremony and take photos around NYC right before the start of Hurricane Irene!</p>

The buds are opening and the early trees start flowering. &nbsp;New Yorkers are coming out of their grumpy hibernation and everything seems new. &nbsp;I always encourage couples who choose to get married in the spring to take time out for some pictures in a park. &nbsp;It's worth the extra 20 minutes or however much time they have to do it. &nbsp;It's quiet and relaxed and makes for lovely photos.</p>

A different world. &nbsp;Instead of snow and short days, lots of red brick and and stately pre-war buildings, it's a completely opposite reality of pastel colors. &nbsp;It's really a touch of heaven. As much as we all love NYC it's great to hop on a plane and escape to&nbsp;someplace so tropical.</p>

Everything and everyone looks bright and beautiful.</p>
<p>The trees are bare and all the original details of the buildings get a chance to show off. It's a great time to visually appreciate the city.&nbsp; If it gets too cold, there are plenty of shops to duck into and places to get a hot chocolate. ﻿</p>
