First Update After a Busy Summer

Sometimes couples live together for years and start a family before deciding to get married.  In this case, after 12 years together and raising a son, Joe and Mike were finally able to be married in New York state.  Not long ago they might have not have thought it possible, but here they are sharing their wedding day with their son.

They managed to have their ceremony and take photos around NYC right before the start of Hurricane Irene!

MARRIAGE EQUALITY IN NEW YORK!

What a happy and historic day!  Marriage Equality has finally come to New York State.  Commitment ceremonies like those pictured below were always beautiful.  Now, starting in just one month, same-sex couples will be able to have legal marriages.  We are thrilled about this!

Happy Birthday, Matey!

I was recently hired to photograph a lavish nautical-themed birthday party at a yacht club in Greenwich, CT.  Sometimes my job is too much fun.  Not only was this a fabulous costume party in a gorgeous venue on the Long Island Sound, the surprise guests made it amazing!  Earth Wind and Fire brought down the house playing all their hits!

Double Wedding at City Hall

This wedding was the first double wedding I have been asked to photograph.  Four friends came to New York City to do their marriages together.  It turned out to be a perfect day for all of them.  We met at the City Hall's Marriage Bureau and each couple got married in the same room one right after the next.  We did all their photos in downtown locations.  First City Hall Park where the spring flowers were blooming and then Pier 17 at South Street Seaport for a great view of the Brooklyn Bridge.

Church Weddings

As much as I love doing outdoor weddings especially in Central Park, church weddings have a gorgeous look of their own.  Opulent dark wood, polished brass and colorful stained glass impart a traditional, timeless quality to the photos.  This is made even more apparent by the use of ambient light only.  Most churches and temples don't allow flash photography.  I've been lucky enough to do weddings in some of New York City's prettiest and most impressive churches, including St. Patrick's Cathedral.

Here are a couple of recent shots from a lovely church in Westchester County.
